Woodland hub open day
This is a taster day to promote our free wellbeing groups funded by the National Lottery partnership fund and run in partnership with Shine Coaching CIC.
The day will run from 10am to 4pm and feature a range of drop in activities and demonstrations as well as a few woodturning and blacksmithing workshops which MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE as we can only have limited numbers on each. There is a £5 returnable deposit to secure your place on one of the workshops. This can either be returned to you on the day or you can chose to donate this to the project – all monies raised will go towards the running of our wellbeing groups. The woodturning workshops are 30 minutes long and will run at 10:30, 11:15, 12, 1:30, 2:15 and 3pm. The forge workshops are 1 hour long and will run at 10:30, 11:30, 1, 2 and 3pm.
There are also 4 ‘Introduction to Naturewell’ sessions at 10:30, 11:45, 1:30 and 2:45. These also need to be booked separately as there is a maximum of 12 people on each.
There is no need to book for the other activities – you can just come and have a wander round the site, have a brew & toast a marshmallow – but you must register for the day here so that we can email you directions and further details nearer the time. You do not have to attend for the whole day – just come along for a few hours to see what we’re all about!
The day is designed to give you a taster of what the wellbeing groups are like and give you a chance to meet some of the facilitators and try out some activities. There will be woodturning and blacksmithing workshops and demonstrations, ‘Introduction to Naturewell’ sessions, some natural art activities and a chance to toast a marshmallow over the campfire and enjoy a brew and a slice of cake.
There is more information about our weekly wellbeing groups here: https://wildwooddays.co.uk/woodland-hub/
There are two free men’s groups that run during term times on Thursday and Friday afternoons. There is also a women’s wellbeing group on Thursday afternoons which has one free place and 4 subsidised places each term. We are also starting a new mixed group on Saturday mornings that will meet monthly from September onwards. The groups are based on the ‘Naturewell’ method, an eco-therapy approach that focuses on nature connection activities but also feature a range of natural crafts and practical skills.
