This footpath route was created to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Five local schools designed the way-markers, which show local wildlife and landmarks. The whole loop is approximately 6km which will take about 2 hours to walk at a comfortable pace. The path can be split into two smaller loops if you would like a shorter walk
There is an orienteering trail question sheet that links to the waymarkers that can be downloaded here. All the way-markers were drawn in 2022 by local school children from Brinscall St Johns, St Joseph’s, Abbey Village, Withnell Fold and St Peter’s primary schools.
The project was funded by Withnell Parish Council as part of their Jubilee celebrations and delivered by Wildwood Days CIC. Principle Signs & Graphics produced the way-markers and signage.
We hope you enjoy the footpath and learn something about this area’s beautiful landmarks, rich biodiversity and interesting heritage.
Please let us know if you notice anything damaged or dangerous along the route.
Thank you.
