Lost farms guided walk 2 – Marsdens

This is a re-run of one of last year’s guided walks funded by Historic England as part of the Lost Farms of Brinscall Moors community history project. This is route 2 which covers the south end of Brinscall Moor and include the ruins of Marsdens and Coppice Stile.

Starting from Wildwood Days we will walk down to the goit and then up through the woods to Marsdens. We will then continue onto the moors to walk along the ridge to Coppice Stile before heading back down to White Coppice It is a circular route so you will end up where you started but you are able to leave the walk at any point if you wish to do a shorter (or longer!) route or would rather finish in White Coppice. Our planned route is 7km or 4.3 miles so we have allowed 3 hours with stops at each of the ruins we pass on the way.

The walk is aimed at adults and the route includes some steep hills and uneven ground so please come suitably shod (walking boots) and dressed for the weather.
