SOLD OUT – Lost farms guided walk 1
SOLD OUT – Please get in touch if you would like to go on a waiting list.
This is a repeat of the first of two guided walks funded by Historic England as part of the Lost Farms of Brinscall Moors community history project. The first walk will cover the north end of Brinscall Moor and include the ruins of Ratten Clough, Solomon’s temple and Botany Bay.
Starting from the swimming pool car park in Brinscall we will head up Well Lane and on to the moor. It is a circular route so you will end up where you started but you are able to leave the walk at any point if you wish to do a shorter (or longer!) route or would rather finish in Abbey Village. Our planned route is 4km or just under 3 miles so we have allowed 2.5 hours with stops at each of the ruins we pass on the way.
The walk is aimed at adults and the route includes some steep hills and uneven ground so please come suitably shod (walking boots) and dressed for the weather.
Only 20 places are available. £4pp. This includes refreshments (a brew and a slice of cake) when we stop for a break at Botany Bay farm ruin. This is a funded event so the £4 is a returnable deposit to secure your place. This can be returned to you on request but if you chose to donate it, all the money will go towards subsidising future community events and walks. Thank you 🙂
