Home Ed session – March

This is our monthly Home Ed group. When the weather gets warmer we will start meeting weekly again but in January, February and March we will be doing one special session a month: 22nd Jan, 22nd Feb and 22nd March.

The group will run on Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:15pm.

Snack will be provided (hot drinks for adults plus fruit/biscuits and squash or water for children). We will have our campfire and our log burner on so there will always be somewhere to warm up.

March’s theme is all about Spring: we’ll be spotting signs of Spring, planting up our fairy garden ready for summer, creating blossom pictures and more!

The group is primarily aimed at school age children – approx 5 to 12 years old – but it is very flexible and younger or older siblings are welcome to attend. We will provide a range of levels of activities and have lots of resources at site that work well for all ages (mud kitchen, rope swing, den-building etc.). The Forest school ethos is child-led so whilst we will provide some themed activities we do always stress that these aren’t compulsory. We try to notice and respond to children’s interests so themes may be adapted or changed.

Each session will start with a safety talk and introductions around the fire circle, an explanation of the activities and then children and families can free-flow around the site. Adults are expected to attend and join in with the activities.

Plenty of shelter, a car park and a composting toilet is available. When you book on you will be emailed directions and joining instructions. If you haven’t received an info email 2 days before the session please get in touch. Thank you.
