Due to popular demand, ‘Forge in the Forest’ is back with another beginners’ black-smithing course.

This is a relaxed, informal workshop for up to 5 people to have a go at black-smithing in our outdoor forge. No experience is necessary and all tools, materials and safety equipment are provided. The course is led by Peter Roworth, who has been leading smithing sessions with our Men’s group over the past year.

The forging workshops will run every Saturday morning from 10am to 12 noon on the 8th, 15th and 22nd April.

The course is designed as a 3 week block so you can perfect your skills. One-off spaces may be available nearer the time and there is currently one space on the 8th April if you just want to attend one day. We will be creating simple beginner black-smithing projects such as a coat hook, poker and metal flower (rose or tulip). If you already have some experience Peter will discuss with you would you would like to make.

We will stop for a break about half way through each session to have a brew and a slice of cake.
