Forge in the the Forest

One place is now available on the 26th November.

After a successful pilot in June, ‘Forge in the Forest’ is back with another beginners black-smithing course.

This is a relaxed, informal workshop for up to 6 people to have a go at black-smithing in our outdoor forge. No experience is necessary and all tools, materials and safety equipment are provided. The course is led by Peter Roworth, who has been leading smithing sessions with our Men’s group over the past year.

The forging workshops will run every Saturday morning from 10am to 12 noon on the 12th, 19th and 26th November.

You can either book the block of 3 weeks for £75 or book onto a one-off session for £35. If you book the block you will be able to develop your skills and build up to creating more complex items. We will be creating simple beginner black-smithing projects such as a coat hook, poker, fork or bottle opener. If you already have some experience Peter will discuss with you would you would like to make.

We will stop for a break about half way through to have a brew and a slice of cake.

NB – if you do book a one-off session we will assume it is for the coming week. Please message us if you are booking for a different date.
