Spoon carving workshop
Learn the techniques of carving a spoon using hand tools only. You will be taught the full process of carving a spoon from a prepared blank.
Using a step by step method you will use an axe to rough out the shape of a spoon, use a spoon knife to create the bowl and a straight bladed whittling knife to finish it off. The course is taught by local wood-carver, Paul Holland, who has been running spoon club at Wildwood Days over the past two years.
You can be experienced in green woodwork and want to learn or refine your carving technique or be completely new to the craft. Come and join people with the same interests and learn skills for life surrounded by wildlife.
This workshop runs from 9 to 2pm with a short break for tea & cake mid morning and a break for lunch (which you will need to bring with you). All tools and materials provided. £56pp, for ages 15 and over. Only 8 spaces available.
